Daniel W. Coburn Named Recipient of the 2017 Guggeheim Fellowship in Photography.
Daniel W. Coburn was invited by Eric McCollum, Professor and program director for the Marriage and Family Therapy program, as a visiting scholar at Virginia Tech University. Daniel interacted with students and delivered a lecture on his work and research to the Department of Human Development and Family Science.

Daniel W. Coburn to serve as Artist in Residence at Ballarat International Photo Biennale - I will serve as artist in residence at Ballarat International Photo Biennale in Victoria, Australia from August 15 - September 5, 2016. The residence represents a partnership between the festival and Federation University.

Line Up: Pattern, Type, Taxonomy at Texas Tech University - My project "Next of Kin' is featured in this exhibition at Texas Tech University alongside work by Keliy Anderson-Staley, Evan Baden, Dona Schwartz, Warren Harold, Robert Sebree, and Sarah Wilson. The exhibit was curated by Joe Arredondo, Peter S. Briggs, Helen DeVitt Jones and runs in conjuction with the 46th annual Comparative Literature Symposium hosted by Texas Tech.
Joyce Elaine Grant Exhibition - My project "Next of Kin" was granted a $1000 cash award by juror Elizabeth Siegel, Associate Curator of Photography at the Art Institute of Chicago. Six of my photographs will be exhbited at the annual Joyce Elaine Grant Exhbition.
SOHO Photo Alternative Processes Competition - Juror Jill Enfield chose my print "Sanctuary" from my project "Domestic Reliquary" for inclusion in this years exhibition in New York.

Helsinki Photo-Media Research Conference - I have been invited as a guest lecturer to the 2014 Photomedia Research Conference in Helskinki Finland. I will deliver my lecture, Domestic Trauma and Vernacular Photography, at this years event which concentrates on the topic of "Photographic Powers." Conference Dates are March 26th - March 28th 2014.
Society for Photographic Education Midwest Regional Conference - I have been invited as a guest lecturer at the 2013 SPE Midwest Conference. International Photography Festival - Belo Horizonte Brazil Daniel Coburn will travel to Brazil for the Festival Internacional de fotografia as an exhibitor, portfolio reviewer and guest lecturer. The festival runs from July 12th to August 6th in Belo Horizonte.

A Family Album and the Domestic Reliquary - On February 8th I will deliver a public talk at the University of New Mexico, Center for the Arts, Room 1020 at 12pm.
